Free Bookmarks: The Amazing Read

In honour of the great response from our patrons, twitterers, facebook followers and library staff, we've decided to compile the 31 recommendations for the Amazing Read booklist into bookmarks. Why not print one out on some nice card for that amazing read you picked up this month?

Book Discussion Groups @ Camden Library Service

Why not share your thoughts and ideas about the books you've read for others? Have a great chat with like-minded people about the books you love by attending one of our book discussion groups. Particularly since its the National Year of Reading, the time has never been better to get your bookworm on!

Book Discussion Group - Evening

Meetings of the Book Discussion Group are held at Camden Library on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 7.30pm.

Books for discussion include new and classic fiction. A light supper is provided.

Book Discussion Group - Daytime

Camden Library Service currently has two daytime discussion groups with separate reading lists. All are welcome - simply come to the one that takes your fancy!

Group 1

Meetings will be held on the 4th Wednesday of each month from 10am-12 noon. All books are available for rental from Camden Library for $3.50. For more information contact Virginia at Camden Library on 4654 7951.

Booklist: The Amazing Read

Welcome to the National Year of Reading. This year libraries all over Australia are teaming up to promote reading in your everyday life. Whether its emailing over a great article you read on the web, sharing a good book with a friend, smelling the glossy pages of a new magazine or writing a diary this year, your library will provide you will all sorts of goodies this year to make it happen. Summer Camden Reads - It's On!

Armed with the motherload of giveaways and great prizes, Camden Library presents CAMDEN READS- the library's summer reading program. Divided into three categories: Adult, Youth and Children, Camden Reads rewards you for taking some time out for yourself with a good read, whether it be the latest gossip magazine, a downloaded eBook, an action-packed graphic novel, or the mesmerising novel.

Signing up is easy! Simply fill out the form at Camden and Narellan branches, and you're good to go. For every book you read, write it down on the tickets provided and each one goes in the draw to win heaps of great prizes including a bridge climb, museum and novelty park tickets, movie vouchers, books, and vouchers for a range of goodies.

Children receive (if we don't run out in the first few days!) a goody bag to get them going.
